„Sofia Gospel Choir“ captivated the audience with the power of music during their „Stand Up“ concert, which took place on October 3 at the capital’s Kino Cabana club.
In their repertoire, „Sofia Gospel Choir“ included songs from different periods of the development of gospel music, starting from the true classics like Oh, happy day and Jericho, passing through tender songs like Total Praise, You Raise Me Up and ending with popular gospel pieces from 20th and 21st century, and thus met the expectations of every guest.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that the audience, who filled the club to the max, sang along with the performers from the beginning to the end of the concert. On the one hand, the pieces were familiar and close to everyone, and all the choristers put their heart and soul into their performance. And on the other hand, the charisma of the soloists captured everyone’s mood. The color of the concert was contributed by the soloists from Steven Achikor, the participants in the new season of „The Voice of Bulgaria“ Natasha Andreu and Konstantin Tomov, the popular trio from the same format „Trinity“, as well as the wonderful Bulgarian performers Dima Moroz, Dani Balevska, Yoana Stoyanova.
With this concert, which was preceded by a long break due to the pandemic, „Sofia Gospel Choir“, under the direction of Geri Balevska, proved that music can serve not only to entertain, but also to inspire, move and touch hearts with the message it carries – a message of hope, faith and freedom.
